“Love your service! Everything from beginning to end are so smooth and fast. Tim and his guy did a great job with putting up the shelves. Thank you!”

“When a couple of railing posts rotted on our high up deck, I tried to work on a fix. I am a 65 yo retired woman and I love doing repairs like this, but quickly realized it was just out of my comfort zone. I called a few fence companies, but it was too small of a job for any of them. I then researched places to call and ended up contacting Ms Fixit. Tammy was great. Within a couple of days we had Reuben come over to give an estimate. The estimate was fair and a few days later he showed up with Tim and they proceeded to repair the rotted 4x4s that were inside a vinyl sleeve. Knowing a bit about carpentry, they were happy to let me watch, ask questions and even help out a bit. They were knowledgeable, personable, professional and made the final repair a stronger fit than before. I attempt most repairs on the house, but if I run into another one I can't fix, I will definitely call this company again.”

“This review is specifically about Reuben (I will have another update about other work - also good - but this review couldn't wait!). To support the carpet install I had a couple repairs / patches needed. My second floor landing bull nose was broken (to be wrapped by carpet) and I was concerned about falling down the stairs. When Reuben arrived to fix it he assessed the situation and let me know he needed to get a different piece and headed to the store - it didn't matter how late it was on a Friday he was going to do it right. When he returned I ask him about the repair. With his kindness and knowledge he explained to me why it was currently wrong and how he was going to properly secure it as well as the strength of the fasteners he was using. He really went above and beyond explaining it. After a recent bad fall, I felt completely confident in safety and Reuben is a GEM.
He also installed a bathroom threshold (that looks fabulous) and he made sure to tell me I needed inform the carpet installers to not put any weight on it for the mortar to fully set as they would be arriving in morning. Again, Reuben sets you up for success!”

“Peter and Jimmy removed old bi-fold door, took it away to dispose of it, hung the new one in all in about 45 minutes. Fast, efficient, personable. I have used Ms. Fix It before and will continue to use them. Tammy, office staff, is responsive and accomodating. Tammy is a pleasure to work with.”

“Amazing! I am moving in the next couple of weeks, and completely forgot to get my deck power-washed ahead of the staging photos 4 days from now. Tammy responded to my inquiry via phone within minutes, and the very next day I had a team of two guys do a superb job on the deck! I will hire Ms. Fixit for the other odd jobs I need to get done before I move. I'm happy with this company's work!”

“Reuben was able to come in and see the problem and came back the next day and was able to get our back door repaired. We are a local restaurant in the community and I was very impressed with the customer service and urgency behind getting the work done. I will definitely recommend this company and will be likely using them again for more projects down the line. Thank you!”

“Outstanding service from start to finish. I wish I contacted Ms. Fixit sooner! I was given an estimate to have a few handyman jobs done around my house and the gentlemen (Ruben, Peter, Tim and Carlo) that completed my projects went above and beyond my expectations. They were on time, efficient, fixed, replaced, painted, caulked, grouted, etc., and even added a few more projects on that we hadn't originally planned on. I highly recommend the entire team at Ms. Fixit.”
– Cheryl N., Fairfax, VA
“The guys did a great job of fixing our fence. My wife was so appreciative of what a thorough and quick job they did and kept her in the loop on what needed to be done. I came home and was very impressed with the fix. Peter Rivera has been great to work with, I couldn't recommend him more highly!”
– Nathan T., Fairfax, VA
“Everything went great. The work was done quickly and efficiently and neatly, with everything tidied up and taken away. I'm pleased with the entire operation - getting estimates, scheduling, and the actual work. The guys who have been out are always on time, pleasant, informative and wonderful to deal with.”

Leslie Strittmatter and Ms. Fixit's Terri Stagi named Washingtonians of the Year
by Anna Spiegel – Washingtonian Magazine
It started small. In 2006, friends Leslie Strittmatter and Terri Stagi invited their female colleagues in the male-dominated building industry to a clothing drive. By the end of the night, they had a sign-up sheet 50 names long for the next event. Women Giving Back, their Sterling-based nonprofit, was born.
Sometimes Even Multitaskers Need a Little Help
by Emily Cook – Posh Seven Magazine
Sometimes life can be a bit overwhelming. Especially in times of stress or uncertainty, which has pretty much been the theme of the year for 2020. Kids are being fully or partially homeschooled, adult children are returning to the nest while working remotely, and the expectation to meet everyone’s demands is weighing heavily on parents who have to assume the role of quasi-teacher, entertainer, chef, and often full-time employee to boot. While there have been some very positive aspects to this “new normal” in that we are spending more time together and enjoying family time, the added strain can mean that we are unable to tend to the things we need to because there are only so many hours in a day.
