“I knew from the beginning that the owner of the company had a handle on it when he showed up for the estimate with the leads of all of the sub-trades and his project manager. They got the job because of this & because they beat everyone in price by far. Additionally, I liked how they let me scale the job as I wanted to do some of the finishing work myself. Ms Fix-it's work was easy for me to tie into, all up to code.”

“Peter and Tim provided great service helping solve our bathroom tile problem.”

“Desperate for someone to finally, successfully fix a dishwasher housing issue, I reached out to Ms Fixit. They responded quickly to my query, and arranged for an estimate within the week. The job was done--successfully--a week later. I can not be happier with their service and their communications with me. In particular, Reuben, who came to give me the estimate and then did the actual work, was amazing; Reuben came on one of the snow days. On time, pleasant, and competent! Tammy, who communicated over email, was also quite pleasant and timely. And the pricing was more than reasonable. I will absolutely be using them again when I need work done.”

“My sincere thanks to Tammy, Reuben and Peter! I did go through a natural disaster accident at home where i needed ceiling and floor restoration. Tammy responded quickly and also provided further recommendations for the flooring work and was able to speed up the process and get the work done within two weeks. The technicians did good job as usual and my special thanks goes to Tammy for all her coordination assistance she provides whenever you reach out to her!”

“The quality of the foundation and the installation is better than the shed itself. If I had to do it over again, I would have bought a better shed! It was a pleasure to have the ‘builders’ here. They enjoy their work.”
– Bill G., Arlington, VA
“Ms. Fixit did an amazing job fixing my kitchen cabinet door. I live in a townhouse rental and I broke the door. They did an awesome job of gluing it back together again and it was done in no time. The technicians were nice and professional. Tammy was great in the office too. The door looks like it never fell apart. I highly recommend Ms. Fixit.”

“As to our experience with the service, we could not have wished for a better quality of service.
Mr. Rivera (Peter) and his team did a great job installing sliding glass shower doors over the bathtubs in two bathrooms. In addition to the assembly and installation of the new doors, the work involved removal of old shower curtain rods, replacement of old grab bars with new ones, adding several tiers of new ceramic wall tile and performing required touch-up plastering/painting.
What impressed us most - beyond the exceptional technical skills of the crew - was their care to avoid damaging or soiling other areas of our house when performing their work. Next time something breaks or wears out we'll definitely be calling you for help!”
– Michiko & Gerald C., Annandale VA
“I knew I had to do something to fix my home’s weather-seal before winter; drafts around doors were an obvious sign. After days of toying with the idea of doing it myself, I called Ms FixIt. Reuben came the very next day to assess the problem and the team arrived just a couple days later. Voila! Two hours later I had new door sweeps and weatherstripping installed by very skilled and personable gentlemen. It would have taken days for me to accomplish! I’m very grateful.”
– Helen N., Gainesville, VA
“We are EXTREMELY HAPPY with your team’s job on our recent project. Our backsplash looks absolutely amazing and we could not be more happier with the job that was done.”
– David P., Sterling, VA
“Great team of carpenters! Took care of the rotting posts on my front and back porches and listened to my concerns up front which ensured the work was completed to my satisfaction. As with a lot of repair projects they identified some additional issues as the work progressed and were clear about what should be done and the additional costs to resolve those as well which I thought was very reasonable. The final result was even better than the original. Price was a bit more than other quotes but I think this team was well worth it due to the quality of workmanship. I'll definitely call on Ms Fixit again if needed.”
– Brian P., Herndon, VA
“Tremendous work all around! On a particularly hot summer day, Reuben and his colleague promptly adjusted our backyard door and replaced the frame. Tammy was also excellent to work with throughout. Ms Fixit will certainly be top of our list for home repair projects from here on out!”
– Corey B., Bethesda, MD
“All I can say is thank God for Ms. Fixit and especially Scott. Scott and his team came in to complete a second story renovation after a previous contractor failed to complete the job. Heritage Contracting straightened bowed walls, shimmed and rehung ceiling and wall drywall, prepped, primed and painted the drywall, replaced bedroom and closet doors and installed carpet throughout the entire second floor. They completed in two weeks what took the previous contractor three months to accomplish. Scott would explain every step, point out any issues discovered along the way and they stuck to their schedule and cost estimates. My entire house is back to being livable and it wouldn't have been possible if it wasn't for the excellent work provided by Scott and his team.”

Leslie Strittmatter and Ms. Fixit's Terri Stagi named Washingtonians of the Year
by Anna Spiegel – Washingtonian Magazine
It started small. In 2006, friends Leslie Strittmatter and Terri Stagi invited their female colleagues in the male-dominated building industry to a clothing drive. By the end of the night, they had a sign-up sheet 50 names long for the next event. Women Giving Back, their Sterling-based nonprofit, was born.
Sometimes Even Multitaskers Need a Little Help
by Emily Cook – Posh Seven Magazine
Sometimes life can be a bit overwhelming. Especially in times of stress or uncertainty, which has pretty much been the theme of the year for 2020. Kids are being fully or partially homeschooled, adult children are returning to the nest while working remotely, and the expectation to meet everyone’s demands is weighing heavily on parents who have to assume the role of quasi-teacher, entertainer, chef, and often full-time employee to boot. While there have been some very positive aspects to this “new normal” in that we are spending more time together and enjoying family time, the added strain can mean that we are unable to tend to the things we need to because there are only so many hours in a day.
