“Hired Ms. Fixit to install a front storm door and they did a fantastic job! They were efficient, very competent, and finished the job in 3hrs. The storm door was a complicated one to install since the house did not have the right frame for it but Ms. Fixit company built one and it was perfect! I will definitely hire them again for future projects!”

“Peter and Reuben did a great job on the list of repairs we needed for our new (old) home! They were both really friendly and professional and went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with how everything looked. We were especially impressed with the way they cleaned up our closets that had been a DIY disaster from the previous homeowner.”

“I'm so glad we hired Ms Fixit to refinish our front door. Chrysten facilitated a smooth quotation process and Reuben did an amazing job with the sanding/recoat. Reuben was also very knowledgeable/helpful throughout the process. We had bought the wrong stain/sealer and Reuben was kind enough to come back the next day at no additional charge! On top of that, the total price was very reasonable. I will definitely consider Ms Fixit for future home improvement projects.”

“Great customer service, very responsive, and excellent work. Very professional. Always on time and very courteous. I had my deck power washed and sealed/stained and it looks so good. I compared several services and I picked a good one in Ms. Fixit. Very price competitive too. Great value. Thank you Chrysten, Peter, and Reuben.”

“Fantastic, professional, detail-oriented work conducted today! Ruben and Peter came out to hang several double curtain rods, blackout curtains, and repair a botched job a from a previous contractor we hired. The first thing they did was set up a laser level and take detailed measurements of the room, noting that one corner had 3 extra inches of ceiling than another, so one set of measurements wasn't going to work for each window. Next, they took the time to read the instructions of the curtain rods, instead of just power through and make mistakes like our previous "know it all" contractor.” “They made an effort to ask our opinion during the process to make sure we were getting exactly what we asked for. When they were finished, they cleaned up, vacuumed, and made sure we gave our final blessing before they picked up their tools and left. Amazing job, very reasonable price, and pleasant, smart, detailed professionals. We will absolutely have them back for everything we can think of now!”

“Called Ms. Fixit to get idea on job price of fixing an outdoor planter box. Filled out questionnaire and attached a few pictures. Received bid back in 2 days. Compared price and was in middle of bids I received. Booked them. They sent date, time and picture of people coming. Showed up right on time. Did a great job, cleaned up entire area. Showed me finished job asked if I had any questions. Would definitely use MsFixit again.”

“Peter and his assistant (I didn’t catch his name) were awesome yesterday. They worked hard as the particulars of the installation were a bit challenging. But they never complained and kept at it until the ceiling fans, TV mount and the mounted TV were perfect. They arrived on time, took away all boxes, and left my home in perfect shape. Another great experience from Ms. Fixit. Stay tuned for more work requests after the holiday.”

Leslie Strittmatter and Ms. Fixit's Terri Stagi named Washingtonians of the Year
by Anna Spiegel – Washingtonian Magazine
It started small. In 2006, friends Leslie Strittmatter and Terri Stagi invited their female colleagues in the male-dominated building industry to a clothing drive. By the end of the night, they had a sign-up sheet 50 names long for the next event. Women Giving Back, their Sterling-based nonprofit, was born.
Sometimes Even Multitaskers Need a Little Help
by Emily Cook – Posh Seven Magazine
Sometimes life can be a bit overwhelming. Especially in times of stress or uncertainty, which has pretty much been the theme of the year for 2020. Kids are being fully or partially homeschooled, adult children are returning to the nest while working remotely, and the expectation to meet everyone’s demands is weighing heavily on parents who have to assume the role of quasi-teacher, entertainer, chef, and often full-time employee to boot. While there have been some very positive aspects to this “new normal” in that we are spending more time together and enjoying family time, the added strain can mean that we are unable to tend to the things we need to because there are only so many hours in a day.
