“Tammy and Peter are both great. Very responsive, informative, and helpful. Peter came out to give me free estimates on a few issues – wood rot, leaking shower – and was able to give me a quote by the next day. Scheduling the job was easy too. When Peter came to do the job, he was friendly, offered to explain things to me, and quick. All around a positive experience and I'll be calling them back for future work.”

“I have four 19-year-old gates on my fence that I thought I was going to have to completely replace and face a huge expense. Ms. Fixit came out quickly, evaluated them and let me know I didn't have to completely replace them. They could simply repair them. They quickly got us on the schedule and did an excellent job repairing the old gates. I can now open them without having to lift them and they lock easily. Employees were professional and courteous. I will definitely call them for any future needs.”

“I've used Ms. Fixit for a number of projects at my house over the past year -- they are a family run business and the team is incredibly reliable and knowledgeable. Reuben and Billy are good people who pride themselves on stellar work. Throughout the projects I've had with them (building custom handrails, installing doors, redoing gutters, power wash) they listened to my needs and readjusted when necessary. Tammy was a pleasure to work with on the scheduling and payment side as well -- super responsive and on top of things. Will definitely continue to use them!”

“I reached out to Ms. Fixit to install a wine rack and a tv on a wall. The handymen did a great job. They were on time and performed within the estimate. They were very nice and I loved the job they did. Highly recommended!”

“Hired Ms. Fixit to install a small glass tile backsplash in our kitchen. Worked with Tammy in the office. She was very helpful and communicated quickly via email and phone as needed. Peter - we love Peter - is the BEST. He answered all my stupid questions with great patience and did a wonderful job with the installation. Would highly recommend as the pricing was good, people are wonderful and do great work. Will hire them again when we have another project.”
– Julie H., Chantilly, VA
“We hired Ms Fixit to replace a couple damaged boards on our deck. Tammy quickly sent a tech out to take measurements and provide an estimate. Rueben did a fantastic job repairing the deck. He arrived on time, was extremely professional, and had all the correct tools and materials needed for the job. We are very happy with the results and will be reaching out again for other projects we have around the house.”

“Great to work with. Excellent craftmanship. Timely, punctual, clean and i would most certainly use them again. Not the cheapest but well worth it.”
– Devin D., Rockville, MD
“I reached out to Ms Fixit for an estimate, on the 4th. The estimate was completed by the 8th and the work completed on the 12th. We encountered Tammy, Ruben, and Peter. All three of them were helpful, knowledgeable, professional, and great at what they each do. Their services were excellent and completely affordable. We look forward to working with them again in the future!”

Leslie Strittmatter and Ms. Fixit's Terri Stagi named Washingtonians of the Year
by Anna Spiegel – Washingtonian Magazine
It started small. In 2006, friends Leslie Strittmatter and Terri Stagi invited their female colleagues in the male-dominated building industry to a clothing drive. By the end of the night, they had a sign-up sheet 50 names long for the next event. Women Giving Back, their Sterling-based nonprofit, was born.
Sometimes Even Multitaskers Need a Little Help
by Emily Cook – Posh Seven Magazine
Sometimes life can be a bit overwhelming. Especially in times of stress or uncertainty, which has pretty much been the theme of the year for 2020. Kids are being fully or partially homeschooled, adult children are returning to the nest while working remotely, and the expectation to meet everyone’s demands is weighing heavily on parents who have to assume the role of quasi-teacher, entertainer, chef, and often full-time employee to boot. While there have been some very positive aspects to this “new normal” in that we are spending more time together and enjoying family time, the added strain can mean that we are unable to tend to the things we need to because there are only so many hours in a day.
