“Fast and done correctly, the two things every homeowner wants when hiring a contractor. Tammy worked directly with me and the fence repair was handled very professionally. Initially I misunderstood part of the scope of the job, but Tammy rolled with it and we got exactly what we wanted. Great service!!!! Would use them again.”

“I worked with Ms. FIxit and Barry Gantz to build my lower deck. They did a great job building my deck and worked with the County to get the required permits and approvals. I love my deck and have enjoyed working with Ms. FIxit and Barry Gantz.”

“Tammy and Peter are both great. Very responsive, informative, and helpful. Peter came out to give me free estimates on a few issues - wood rot, leaking shower - and was able to give me a quote by the next day. Scheduling the job was easy too.”
– Boone K., Manassas, VA
“I was very impressed by Ms. Fixit. Tammy at the office was efficient and responsive. Peter arrived on time, his work was excellent and he also made sure he cleaned up the areas he had worked in. I thought their price was reasonable. Count me in as a repeat customer from now on. I highly recommend their services.”

“We had a flood in our basement that was not covered by insurance. After several estimates and contacts, I've reached out to Ms Fixit to redo my drywall walls and redo insulation.
They were superb. From the initial visit, by the technician Peter, to a reasonably priced estimate, by Tammy, everything was very smooth and professional.
The execution was done as scheduled, without any hassle. I absolutely loved the service all through and will definitely hire them again when needed.”
– Aquiles F., Vienna, VA
“I've worked with Ms. Fixit for two projects now, and I've been very pleased with the results on both.
The first time they replaced the pull-down stairs to our attic because the springs had broken on one side. They put in a new set of stairs which work perfectly. The work was quickly and efficiently done by Peter and Reuben, who were both friendly, helpful and great!
Our second project was a complete remodel of our den. It had paneling which was installed about 50 years ago which I wanted to change, and I wanted more storage.
They placed drywall over the paneling and painted it, then built a closet across the end of the room. I supplied the shelving for the closet but they installed it for me perfectly. They also replaced the baseboard molding and updated the ceiling lights, moving one which would have been partially in the new closet.
My husband and I are extremely pleased with the results and the way the room looks now. I will gladly hire them again for our next project!”

Leslie Strittmatter and Ms. Fixit's Terri Stagi named Washingtonians of the Year
by Anna Spiegel – Washingtonian Magazine
It started small. In 2006, friends Leslie Strittmatter and Terri Stagi invited their female colleagues in the male-dominated building industry to a clothing drive. By the end of the night, they had a sign-up sheet 50 names long for the next event. Women Giving Back, their Sterling-based nonprofit, was born.
Sometimes Even Multitaskers Need a Little Help
by Emily Cook – Posh Seven Magazine
Sometimes life can be a bit overwhelming. Especially in times of stress or uncertainty, which has pretty much been the theme of the year for 2020. Kids are being fully or partially homeschooled, adult children are returning to the nest while working remotely, and the expectation to meet everyone’s demands is weighing heavily on parents who have to assume the role of quasi-teacher, entertainer, chef, and often full-time employee to boot. While there have been some very positive aspects to this “new normal” in that we are spending more time together and enjoying family time, the added strain can mean that we are unable to tend to the things we need to because there are only so many hours in a day.
