“This is the second set of projects that I needed to have performed. Burt made sure that he called to let me know he was on his way. He had to come back to finish the project, but they did it in a timely manner. Very professional. Cleaned up the work site and left it in great condition. I will continue to utilize them on future projects.”

“Burt did a fantastic job on the replacement skirt around my house and garage. He got it done quickly and cleaned everything up once he was done. I will be contacting Ms. Fixit in the early Spring to replace my door into the garage, as well as some boards on either side of the house at the basement level. Thanks again!”
– Jonathan N., Gaithersburg, MD
“From start to finish, this company provided excellent service. They answered my emails quickly and it was easy to schedule an estimate. They did great work replacing my bathroom vanity and sink and caulking my tub. I will be using them again for other home repair needs. Burt did the estimate and returned to do the work for a very fair price.”
– Samantha D., Alexandria, VA
“I’m super happy with the service I received. Tammy was very helpful and responsive in setting up the appointment, and Burt was timely, respectful, and efficient. He did an amazing job, and the wall looks as good as new. I’ll definitely be reaching out for any further work I need done.”

“Ms Fixit is amazing! They handled rotting trim issues all over our entire house quickly, efficiently, and for an extremely reasonable price. Communication was excellent from start to finish, and our handymen (Reuben and Tim) clearly took a great deal of pride in their work, which they should have-it was flawless! We're so glad to have found Ms Fixit, and definitely plan to use them for future jobs!”
– Miriam L., Ashburn, VA

“Ms. Fixit has been meeting my handyman needs for a year now, and I am very satisfied with their services. My house has some unique problems, both age and more recent modifications that are not standard, but each time they figure it out and get it fixed. The technicians are all polite and knowledgeable, and the work is done in a timely fashion. Recommend highly.”
– Sara A., Rockville, MD
“Ms. Fixit did an excellent job replacing a few rotted joists on our deck, while many other companies would only consider rebuilding the entire deck. They performed the job in a single day and allowed us to purchase our own lumber based on our request. Thanks to Reuben, Tammy, and the team for a job well done.”
– N.P., Alexandria, VA
“I have now had Ms Fixit out to my property twice to replace rotted wood around my back door and downspouts. Both times they were able to come out within the week to give me an estimate and do the work. Their technicians are respectful of my property, friendly and highly skilled. In both cases you can't tell that the repair was done because it blends in so well. Their prices are also very reasonable, especially for the NOVA area where contractors tend to charge more. Overall, I am very happy with the service I received and will be using them again as other items pop up on my never-ending list of home repairs!”
– Joanna M., Virginia
“I had a wonderful experience with Peter. I had 5 jobs I wanted completed including putting together 2 pieces of furniture, installing a bidet, moving a large piece of furniture, and securing electrical lamp cords to the back of a buffet. Peter worked quickly and efficiently and was pleasant. I will use this business again.”
– Lori S., Gainesville, VA

Leslie Strittmatter and Ms. Fixit's Terri Stagi named Washingtonians of the Year
by Anna Spiegel – Washingtonian Magazine
It started small. In 2006, friends Leslie Strittmatter and Terri Stagi invited their female colleagues in the male-dominated building industry to a clothing drive. By the end of the night, they had a sign-up sheet 50 names long for the next event. Women Giving Back, their Sterling-based nonprofit, was born.
Sometimes Even Multitaskers Need a Little Help
by Emily Cook – Posh Seven Magazine
Sometimes life can be a bit overwhelming. Especially in times of stress or uncertainty, which has pretty much been the theme of the year for 2020. Kids are being fully or partially homeschooled, adult children are returning to the nest while working remotely, and the expectation to meet everyone’s demands is weighing heavily on parents who have to assume the role of quasi-teacher, entertainer, chef, and often full-time employee to boot. While there have been some very positive aspects to this “new normal” in that we are spending more time together and enjoying family time, the added strain can mean that we are unable to tend to the things we need to because there are only so many hours in a day.
